61 days now and the bank hasn't got back to me yet. Just called and left another message. Still can't figure how these fine businessmen got into trouble.

After 63 days, finally some information ! The property in Ohio has been bought by the U.S.Bank. The telephone number I was given was in Denver. Denver had me call a number in Minneapolis. They told me an auction company in Tulsa, Oklahoma will auction the property in January. I'm sure none of these people have ever seen the property which was appraised at 111K (highly inflated) and the bank is owed 158K by the previous owners (deceased). If it is a live auction and not an online auction, successful buyer will pay either a 5% premium or $3000 above high bid plus $1500 in closing costs. Stay tuned for more information. My potential bid lowers each time they add on another fee.
The hometown newspaper of the town I was born in (Sandusky, Ohio) claims their on line newspaper hit a record high of 2 million pages viewed last month even though the number of home delivery subscribers continues to plummet. Their main claim to fame was the first video of McCain and Joe the Plumber together as they visited the city in the last days of the campaign.
Bank owned houses within 10 miles of me now have an asking price of 26 cents on the dollar of appraised taxable value. A web site that auctions homes in all states shows 38 recently sold or set for auction shortly in Ohio. Completed sales are 30 - 60% of appraised value. Some are very nice newer homes of 2000 square ft. Many in the Columbus and Cincinnati area.
